Second Annual Employment Awards

David Broggin and Nelson TarrDavid Broggin, a client of FSF and Nelson Tarr, with the Maryland School for the Deaf, receive awards from Andy Kolp, Chairperson of the PG County Providers Council at its Second Annual Employment Awards Breakfast.  The Maryland School for the Deaf was cited for its record of hiring individuals with disabilities and Mr. Broggin as an individual achieving
notable success in the work environment.  Congratulations David and Nelson!

FSF and Click for a Cause

Click for a CauseFamily Service Foundation, Inc. is fortunate enough to be featured as a contestant in the WTOP Click for a Cause contest! The contest takes place to help local charities in the Washington DC area, whether they are based from the area or host a chapter in the DC metropolitan area. This year, WTOP will be giving away a total of $30,000 to local charities. First place will win $12,000, second place will win $10,000, and third place will win $8,000.


National Prevention Week and FSF

National Prevention WeekThe Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration holds an event every year called the National Prevention Week. The week is dedicated to bringing public awareness and action in regards to mental health issues and substance abuse. Every year, the week is given a theme to help guide events and programs throughout the nation. This year, National Prevention Week has a theme of “The Voice of One, the Power of All” and will be held from May 17th until May 23rd. Family Service Foundation, Inc. is happy to be hosting a Choose Recovery event on May 22nd in honor of National Prevention Week.


At Family Service Foundation (FSF), a social services organization in Baltimore, Maryland, we are dedicated to providing advocacy and support to individuals with mental and physical disabilities that have recently left inpatient settings. Integration back into the community can be difficult; for that reason, each member of our team works to provide services specifically tailored to each individual and family that we work with. We believe that all individuals can achieve their highest levels of social, physical, and emotional well-being in the community when they have the proper support. FSF specializes in serving Deaf, Deaf-Blind, and individuals with intellectual disabilities. We also have American Sign Language interpreters on staff at all of our locations for the convenience of our Deaf and hard of hearing clients.
