Friday, September 25th, 2015

substance-use-counselingOver the past few years, Baltimore has seen an increase in substance use throughout both the county and city. While there are continuous debates on why this increase has occurred, there is one topic that should never be debated: the importance of substance use counseling. In 2012 alone, publicly funded treatment programs saw 55,499 enrollments. This showed an increase in enrollment on both a state and city level, which is evidence of a significant problem. Those enrolled in substance use counseling in Baltimore were suffering from using benzodiazepines, marijuana, PCP, and heroin.
