Founded in 1936, Family Service Foundation (FSF)
is a non-profit mental health and social service agency dedicated
to serving both hearing and deaf individuals, including those with
chronic mental illness and developmental disabilities.
Affiliations:
- United Way
- member of Maryland Association of Non-Profit Organizations
- The Community Behavioral Health Association of Maryland
- The Maryland Association of Community Services for Person with
Developmental Disabilities.
Services and Programs:
- FSF provides a full range of outpatient psychiatric counseling
and clinical services to individuals and families. Clients utilizing
these services may be experiencing relationship issues, behavior
problems, emotional stress, etc.
- Programs provided by FSF include the Deaf AIDS Project, Developmental
Disabilities Program, and Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program .
Funding:
- Family Service Foundation programs are supported in part by the United
Way and the Maryland State Department of Mental Health and Mental
Hygiene (including AIDS, Mental Hygiene and Developmental Disabilities
Administrations).
- Other funding is received in part by individual and corporate
donations.
Employee Information:
- Family Service Foundation employs a total of 265 people
- Full-time staff: 194 / Part-time staff: 71
- Graduate and undergraduate interns from local schools are
placed in a variety of the agency programs.
